Story:
A stale tale, the story begins with the kidnapping of Janaki (aishwarya), wife of the tough and honest cop Ram (Prithviraj) the very next day after their marriage. This is done by the most feared villain (vikram) who is the law of the land. The villain has a strong reason to kidnap Janaki and due to this, Ram starts to search for his wife and the kidnapper along with his team (Kishore and others). He also takes the help of the suspended forest officer (karthik) to locate the villain. Janaki from her end protests the kidnapping.
Presentation:
The director has come up with a good thought but then he was unable to conceive it perfectly on the screen though the presentation was excellent. The dialogues were weak, the script was shallow and the screenplay was okay. Background score was a disappointment while only one song is appealing. The real show stealer is the cinematography and the locations. Costumes were apt and the art department was alive. Vikram does a good job as the villain and he looks handsome and evil enough, this is an impressive act from him. Prithviraj puts in good efforts and it appears that his appearance suits the cop image well. Aishwarya looks beautiful and she played her part well. Karthik didn't get the chance to show his mettle, Priyamani was good, Prabhu was effective, Kishore was intense, Ranjitha was brief, others didn't have anything to offer or add value.

Thiddakudi Movie Reviw:
It is recent, possibly post-Subramaniapuram, that cinematic realism, which refers to the verisimilitude of a film to the believability of its characters and events, turned out to be a real trend in Tamil cinema! Fortunately, we have quite a lot of film-makers today coming up with some very promising realistic ventures, especially in the past two years, also comparatively competent with commercial mass masala flicks. In fact, this sure is a good tendency! But there is a bad side too. Taking advantage of the current trend, commercialization of realism is taking place with a majority overemphasizing violence to make the sequences "really realistic" and consequently pull crowds into screening centres. As a result, realism began to imply bloodshed and terror! (This is evident from the rapid increase in the number of "A" certified Tamil films in recent times.) In this sense, director Sundharan's Thuttakudi, starring Ravi and Asvatha in the lead, is an exception! As a realistic film, it's totally unbloody and pleasant like any other family drama and provides lots of good moments for audiences to laugh, weep and think through its carefree yet intelligent narration of a typical village and its citizens. For its originality in depiction and outstanding characterization, Thittakudi can be termed an ideal realistic film with a very strong message!
Thiddakudi plot:
Velu (Ravi) is a devil-may-care kid in a remote village. His only ambition? To watch Rajinikanth movies daily. He steals money and cuts classes to go for the shows. But one day, he is caught by his parents, leading him to give up his schooling and begin manual labour in a construction site to earn money to fulfill his thirst for Rajni films! Velu grows up and becomes a prominent mason. With every bad habit, he has become a public nuisance for the villagers. Ladies are his weakness and he spends his earnings mainly on women and wine.
Kalai Selvi (Asvatha), Velu's senior mason's daughter, has a crush on Velu. But he totally ignores her. During a ceremony conducted by elder women on the day Kalai attains puberty, Velu is fatally struck by her charn and gets attracted to her; romance begins to blossom between them. But to our surprise, Velu leaves her after sexually exploiting her. From then on, tragedy strike Velu's life. How Velu realizes his mistakes and repents lead us to a heart-rending climax.
