Manmadhan Ambu Tamil Movie Story:
A good tale gone sour, the story begins with Ambu alias Nisha (trisha) who is a noted actress and she comes to Europe with her friend Deepa (sangeetha) on vacation. Actually, Nisha has a break up with her boyfriend Madangopal (madhavan) who thinks she has multiple affairs. To confirm his doubt, he sends a detective Major Bhushanam (kamal) to keep an eye on Nisha and receive updates. Bhushanam takes up the offer because he needs money and follows Nisha. However, fate has its own game to play and this leads to various twists and turns. What happens after that forms the rest of the story.

Manmadhan Ambu Tamil Movie Presentation:
The director has come up with an interesting storyline and though the presentation was elegant, the narrative was very poor. The dialogues were okay, the script was not convincing and it was not written with strength. The screenplay was inconsistent. Background score was catchy and two songs were really haunting. Cinematography was top notch. Editing was required badly during the second half. Costumes were trendy and stylish while the art department made its presence felt. Kamal Haasan came up with a regular performance as it was not complicated, Trisha looked sweet and she contributed well, Madhavan was moderate, Sangeetha was apt, Das was okay, Manju Pillai was average, Caroline looked beautiful, Usha Uthup was adequate, Ramesh Aravind was not required, Urvashi was usual. The others did their bit as required.

Manmadhan Ambu Tamil Movie Conclusion:
The film is the dubbed version of the Tamil movie 'Manmadhan Ambu' and though it had a lot of hype and expectation, it falls below the average. While the first half was promising and had the required seriousness, the second half takes a complete U-turn and changes the mood. It ends up becoming a mockery of comedy and the entire climax episode is silly. The film scores on technical values and it was better on content but the later part was total disaster. At the box office, the film would have done very well if the second half was worked on and the flavor of comedy was right.

HQMoviesBox.Com verdict : Could have been better...

Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa Movie Story:

A touching love tale, the story begins with Karthik (simbu) who is an aspiring film director and as soon as he passes out of college, he is on his attempts. His life changes when he sees Jesse (Trisha), the daughter of his house owner. He is smitten by her and from then on, he begins to woo her. But then, Jesse doesn't encourage such moves as she is from a staunch Kerala Christian family and moreover, she is elder than Karthik. But Karthik is adamant and doesn't give up. At one point, she reveals her true feelings and just when Karthik things everything is fine, his life takes a turn. What is that turn? How does he cope with it? all this forms the rest of the story.

Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa Movie Presentation:

The director has come up with a thoughtful romantic theme and he has excelled in both his presentation and narration. The dialogues were simple but deep, the script was fabulous and the screenplay was top notch. Background score was a bit disturbing at times but overall okay. Two songs were good but the picturisation of them was excellent. Full marks to cinematography and the way each angle and moment is captured. The single shot scenes were exemplary. Editing was crisp. Costumes were stylish and decent, art department was highly creative. Silambarasan did a good job for his role but he must get a bit easy on the soft emotions like tears. Trisha has ruled the roost and she will simply capture the young hearts with her natural beauty. Ganesh brought in some smiles, Babu Antony was elegant, the others were regular and contributed as required.

Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa Movie Conclusion:

The feel of the film is quite realistic and it is without doubt that eight out of ten people will relate to it. This is a journey of nostalgia and tender emotions and no exaggerations in saying that couple of scenes wrenched the heart. While the first half is more on the entertaining and lighter emotions side, the second half is serious and emotional but it is here that the film scores the best. The technical values and production values take the film to a new league and with few powerful scenes, the impact is much stronger. This is purely for the class and mature audience and it could be that a minimal percentage of masses may also connect with it. At the box office, this deserves a hit.

HQMoviesBox.Com Verdict:Tender and mature, worth watching

Review:

Mani Ratnam’s latest flick Aaitha Ezhuthu has enough substance for the mass audience - popular stars, excellent music, brilliant camera, striking stunts and an interesting plot. What more you expect from a film?

The movie begins with Inba (Madhavan), right-hand to a power hungry politician – minister (Bharathy Raja) following motor cyclist Michael (Surya) along the Marina Beach Road in Chennai. In the meantime the young lovers Arjun and Meera (Siddharth and Trisha) plunge into the scene. As Inba fires bullets on Michael, a shocked Arjun interferes to save Michael and the story of the three young men unfolds. Their change, their conflict, and their interactions with each other form the crux of the film. The film examines the lives of these three men, their romantic interests and their families and the complex relationships between individuals who are very different, yet so similar.

Mani must be credited for telling a story of three youths whose characterization has been well etched. Lots of homework has gone into the roles which many a youth would identify.

Though the screenplay is taut and slick with brilliant camera by Ravi K.Chandran, the meticulously crafted sets of Sabu Cyril, background score of A.R.Rahman, the film must be credited to the two heroes - Madhavan and Surya. Their contribution as actors has lifted the film in many parts. It’s quite difficult to say who has done better. Toughie roles have been done by both, but the difference here is the intensity that these actors emote on screen. Madhavan in the tough-guy role is spectacular. Surya has the youthfulness and that rare combination of strength and vulnerability to pull off the rebellious college student. Siddharth is just right for the happy go lucky youngster who undergoes a life changing experience. Needless to say Mani has given an outstanding new villain to Tamil cinema - Bharathy Raja. He has given a commendable performance. The three girls Meera - Esha - Trisha too have very good meaty roles. Undoubtedly it’s Meera who steals the show while Esha who could have done a better job stumbles in many places. Trisha fits the role to a T. The overdose of politics in the climax jars the narration. The stunt scenes are a treat to watch.

Kuruvi Tamil Movie Story:

A slick entertainer, the story begins with the happy go lucky Vetrivel (Vijay) and his best pal Ops (Vivek) who take life as it comes. However, Vetrivel is in for a surprise when he is asked to vacate the house they are staying and on further enquiry, he gets to know that his father (Manivannan) has been running into debts and has given a cheque that has bounced. Assuming that his father must have gone undercover due to the financial mess, Vetrivel and Ops go to Malaysia to locate the person who has signed the cheque and discover that it is none other than Koccha (Suman) the dreaded don who along with his counterpart Konda Reddy (Ashish Vidyarthi) have imprisoned his father in the quarry mines of Cuddapah in Andhra Pradesh since he has not agreed to their unlawful means of quarrying. Vetrivel becomes Kuruvi, a jargon used for petty contraband carriers and enters the kingdom of Kochcha. Meanwhile, there is Devi (Trisha), sister of Kochcha who is unhappy about the marriage decision taken by her elders and a twist of events take place which make Vetri and Devi fall for each other. Vetrivel takes all the ill treatment by Kochcha and his henchmen only to get his father back but realizing that it is not happening, he comes back to India along with Ops and Devi. Kochcha comes to India in search of Vetri and then starts a fearless war by Vetri who will not stop at anything to bring the sinners to justice. What is the plan he has in mind? Is he successful in getting back his father? All this forms the rest of the story.

Kuruvi Tamil Movie Presentation:

An experienced team of 'Ghilli', the director has come with a regular subject but then the presentation of the plot and the narration has been very racy. He has been well supported with some exceptional music and some masterly camerawork. The editing has been smooth and the script had enough momentum to keep the audience engaged. Vijay has come again with his own style of presentation and has satisfied his fans with his dance moves and exceptional stunts. Trisha was a show stealer with her cute looks and designer outfits and provided the sentimental and emotional dose. Vivek was the comedy guy with some real words of witty wisdom and had a meaty role. Suman, Ashish Vidyarthi fitted the bill as the baddies but then Ashish Vidyarthi was more theatrical at few places. Manivannan had a limited role, so nothing much about him. Malavika's item song was steamy and worth a watch. The rest of the cast were good with their performances.
