Cast : Jai, Shazahn Padamsee, Vijay Vasanth, Michael Thangadurai and Others

Cinematography : Chidambaram

Released Date: November 26, 2010
Rating : 2.5/5

Kanimozhi Tamil Movie Story:
A variety love tale, the story is set on a college backdrop and here is the hero (Jai) who is a student of Viscom. Just like any other student, he has his set of friends and enjoys life. However, his life takes a turn with the arrival of the heroine (shahzahn) and he falls in love with her but doesn't express his feelings. On the other hand, there is another guy (Vijay vasanth) who is an outgoing and dynamic person and he is quite open about his feelings for the heroine. Who among the two gets the girl forms the rest of the story.

Kanimozhi Tamil Movie Presentation:
The director has come up with a variety concept but though the presentation was good, the narrative is not upto the mark. The dialogues were okay, the script was weak and the screenplay was not handled well. Background score was alright but songs were not that great. Cinematography is a highlight and editing was not sharp. Costumes were impressive and art department was colorful. Jai comes up with a good performance and he scores the brownie points. However, Shahzahn was quite stiff and though she has sweet looks, she has to work on her expressions and body language. Michael was competent and made his presence felt. The others didn't have much to offer but did their bit as required.

Kanimozhi Tamil Movie Conclusion:
While it is nice to watch a love story on the screen, it is also important to hold the script tightly to get the right kind of juice from it. That was missing in this movie. But then, there are few scenes which are striking a chord and get the audience into the film. The technical aspects were well focused but content was not given a proper direction. Overall, the film appeals in parts and it will go well with few groups of youth audience. The box office result will be quite shaky as it requires strong publicity.

HQMoviesBox.Com Verdict: Not upto the mark

Ayyanar Tamil movie (2010) Cast and Crew:

Movie Review : Ayyanar
Banner : Sri Rajalakshmi Films
Cast : Aadhi, Meera Nandan, Santhanam, Mahadevan, Jayaprakash and Others
Music : Thaman
Cinematography : Sethu Sriram
Producer: P L Thenappan
Director: Rajamithran
Released Date: December 17, 2010
Rating : 3/5

Ayyanar Tamil movie Story:
A formula tale, the story begins with Prabha (aadhi) who is a happy go lucky guy hanging out with friends and as usual, his father (jayaprakash) doesn't like it. On the other hand, Prabha's brother works for a media channel and the family often does comparison which brings friction between the brothers. The story takes a turn when Prabha's brother gets killed and he gets the blame. He runs away from home and joins the gang of a powerful politician (mahadevan). However, one by one, the gang of the politician starts getting killed. Who is killing them and why forms the rest of the story.

Ayyanar Tamil movie Presentation:
The director has come up with a routine storyline and though the presentation was okay, the narrative was not that strong. The dialogues were average, the script was moderate. The screenplay was alright. Background score was catchy and two songs were really worth taking home. Cinematography was effective. Editing was required during the second half. Costumes were apt while the art department made its presence felt. Aadhi has come up with a stellar performance and he shouldered the film well. Meera Nandan was brief but she was homely and decent. Mahadevan was mean and he scored the brownie points. Santhanam gave few smiles. Jayaprakash was matured. The others did their bit as required.

Ayyanar Tamil movie Conclusion:
The film runs on a typical commercial formula and though the depiction was good, there was nothing variety in it. Such films require a strong screenplay and that was not happening in this. While the first half goes in a lighter way, the second half gets serious and has a tinge of melodrama and dose of sentiment. The film could have worked if the romance and the twists were given more depth. At the box office, this could be anywhere between below average to average grosser.

HQMoviesBox.Com verdict: Routine tale, Can watch it for Aadhi

Movie Name: Agam Puram
Cast: Shaam, Meenakshi, Anandhraj, Meera Krishnan, Manobala, Alex.
Director: Thirumalai
Producer: Gopalakrishnan M
Music Director: Sundar C Babu
Release Date: 10 Dec 2010
Genre: Drama

Rating: 2/5

Agam Puram Movie Story:

Shaam leaves his mother and sister in his native place and comes with his uncle to Chennai at his teenage. Shaam joins Martyn who's major business is to sell drugs in the society. After Martyn's death, Shaam tries to take control of the business but as he faces enormous problems from the other drug sellers, Shaam decides to run his own drug business in Chennai.

Shaam purchases valuable drugs from Malaysia and Spain and starts his own drug business. Then he goes to his native and bring his mom and sister to chennai. Meanwhile the department of police appoints special officer Anandraj to handle the case and the criminals.

Shaam's mother comes to know about the kind of business he is dealing with. What happens next is the movie. Debutant director Thirumalai has taken a good subject deal with but lacks the touch of experience. The director has tried hard to give the audience a action package.

Meenakshi is very glamorous in Agam puram than her previous movies. She also looks pretty good in sarees also. The background score could have been more effective as it is an action movie but the songs are quite good.

Agam Puram Movie Presentation:

Shaam is no where lesser in giving realistic performance, he has done justice to his role but his stardom is lacking in choosing right scripts. To reach the heights it’s better for him to go with good scripts.
Meenakshi played the love interest of Shaam, but her role is just like a passing cloud as she is seen in few scenes.
Director Thirumalai has given his best but fails to make any impact to the audience.
Music rendered by Sundar C Babu was completely a let down for the film.
On an outlook Agam Puram doesn’t make any appeal at the box office. This is going to be another let down for Shaam.

HQMoviesBox.Com Verdict: Not Worthy

Released Date: November 22, 2010
Rating : 2/5

Mandhira Punnagai Tamil Movie Story:
A typical tale, the story is about Kadir (karu palaniappan) who is a very tough and mean architect. He doesn't believe in having principles and lives life as per his will. With this, he becomes the most hated person and there are those who are scared to go near him for obvious reasons. The story takes a turn when Kadir meets Nandhini (meenakshi) who works in a car showroom. Kadir designs the car showroom and in no time, both of them get attracted and fall in love. However, there is a twist awaiting both of them and this leads to further complications. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Mandhira Punnagai Tamil Movie Presentation:
The director has come up with a different storyline and both the presentation and narrative were not upto the mark. The dialogues were dull, the script was very weak and the screenplay was patchy. Background score was the saving grace and the songs also added some credit. Cinematography made its presence felt. Editing was raw. Costumes were okay and the art department was pleasant. Karu Palaniappan needs to work on his body language if he is looking at acting as a career. Meenakshi looks seductive and she has made the best use of her opportunity. Santhanam fails in the comedy department. Thambi Ramayya was okay, Maheshwari was neat, Rishi was regular.

Mandhira Punnagai Tamil Movie Conclusion:
The film came in with a lot of hype and expectations but the truth is, it didn't have the kind of content or the substance to appeal to the audience. While the first half takes off mildly, things get worse in the second half with dragged scenes and amateur performances. If not for the music and camerawork, the film would have been a complete disaster. For now, the film is having a strong chance of becoming a dud at the box office.

Boss Engira Bhaskaran Movie Conclusion:

The film has got it all to fit the bill of a commercial entertainer. Breezy presentation and excellent timing of comic situations made the day. While the first half goes on a lighter mode, the second half gets a bit twisted but still the humor is maintained. The real credit goes to the director for his script writing abilities and to the lead cast for their performances. Music : Devisri Prasad
Cinematography : Manush Nandan
Producer: B Subrahmanyam, Y Rupesh
Director: K S Ravi Kumar
Released Date: December 23, 2010
Rating : 2.75/5

Manmadhan Ambu Tamil Movie Story:
A good tale gone sour, the story begins with Ambu alias Nisha (trisha) who is a noted actress and she comes to Europe with her friend Deepa (sangeetha) on vacation. Actually, Nisha has a break up with her boyfriend Madangopal (madhavan) who thinks she has multiple affairs. To confirm his doubt, he sends a detective Major Bhushanam (kamal) to keep an eye on Nisha and receive updates. Bhushanam takes up the offer because he needs money and follows Nisha. However, fate has its own game to play and this leads to various twists and turns. What happens after that forms the rest of the story.

Manmadhan Ambu Tamil Movie Presentation:
The director has come up with an interesting storyline and though the presentation was elegant, the narrative was very poor. The dialogues were okay, the script was not convincing and it was not written with strength. The screenplay was inconsistent. Background score was catchy and two songs were really haunting. Cinematography was top notch. Editing was required badly during the second half. Costumes were trendy and stylish while the art department made its presence felt. Kamal Haasan came up with a regular performance as it was not complicated, Trisha looked sweet and she contributed well, Madhavan was moderate, Sangeetha was apt, Das was okay, Manju Pillai was average, Caroline looked beautiful, Usha Uthup was adequate, Ramesh Aravind was not required, Urvashi was usual. The others did their bit as required.

Manmadhan Ambu Tamil Movie Conclusion:
The film is the dubbed version of the Tamil movie 'Manmadhan Ambu' and though it had a lot of hype and expectation, it falls below the average. While the first half was promising and had the required seriousness, the second half takes a complete U-turn and changes the mood. It ends up becoming a mockery of comedy and the entire climax episode is silly. The film scores on technical values and it was better on content but the later part was total disaster. At the box office, the film would have done very well if the second half was worked on and the flavor of comedy was right.

Siddu Plus Two Tamil Movie Story:

A routine tale presented well, the story begins at the Chennai central station and here comes Siddu (santhanu) to take a train. He is escaping from his home since he failed his higher secondary exam. Here, he comes across Pavitra (chandni) and they get to know each other. In no time, they start having a good time and as expected, they also begin liking each other but then there are few troubles on the way. What are those troubles and how the love birds tend overcome that forms the rest of the story.

Siddu Plus Two Tamil Movie Presentation:

The director has come up with a flimsy storyline but both the presentation and narrative were nice. The dialogues were good, the script was better, the screenplay was the highlight. Background score was good but songs were just okay. Cinematography was very nice. Editing was required at many places and trimming was compulsory. Costumes were neat and art department stole the limelight.

Siddu Plus Two Tamil Movie Conclusion:

Though such subjects have been dealt before, the presence of K Bhagyaraj changes the perspective. He has a way of getting the audience into the film. While the first half was regular with the elements of comedy and budding romance, the second half gets serious and has its own melodrama. The film would have been a lot better if the makers altered the length, there were many idle moments for the audience. Also, the presence of comedy should have been higher to make it entertaining. Overall, this is a film for the family audience and at the box office, it could be an above average grosser.

Music : James Vasanthan

Cinematographer : S R Kathir

Producer: M Sasikumar

Director: M Sasikumar

Released Date: December 17, 2010

Eesan Tamil Movie Story:

A well knit tale gone long, the story begins with a girl from the village (abhinaya) who comes to the city and in no time, becomes fashionable. However, her life takes a turn when a politician's son (vaibhav) casts his eye on her and rapes her. The girl is also killed. From there on, starts a revenge saga for the killing of the girl and in comes the honest and tough cop (samuthirakani) to investigate the matter. He is barred at all corners by the politician (azhagappan) but the cop doesn't give up. Who is the killer? What happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Eesan Tamil Movie Presentation:

The director has come up with a gripping storyline and while the presentation was impressive, the narrative was not that strong. The dialogues were intense, the script was moderate but the screenplay got elongated. Background score was catchy and songs were very non situational. Cinematography is the highlight of the film. Editing was poor and missed its mark in many places. Costumes were realistic while the art department was natural. Samuthirakani is a master performer, his screen presence, body language was excellent. Equally competent was Azhagappan as he made his presence felt. Vaibhav was the right choice for his role. Abhinaya was good. Aparna was average, Blessy was neat, Niranjan was natural, Nammo Narayana was adequate.

Eesan Tamil Movie Conclusion:

The film came in with a lot of expectations as the makers earlier came up with 'Subramaniapuram' and though the concept was good and the taking was nice, it was the length that played the spoilsport. The opening takes off brilliantly and the momentum is maintained till quite a while. However, it is the second half and the non situational songs that disturb the pace. Overall, the film is good in parts and if only it was trimmed, it could have caused a strong impact. At the box office, this could be an above average grosser.

HQMoviesBox.Com Verdict : Gripping but lengthy!!

Goa Tamil Movie Story:

A humorous tale, the story begins on the backdrop of the Pannapuram village near Madurai where three friends - Samikannu (Premji Amaran), Vinayakam (Jai) and Ramarajan (Vaibhav) roam around like vagabonds with nothing to do. As expected, the villagers decide that the trio must not be together. Meanwhile, they decide to go to Madurai and on reaching there, they get to see their friend who meets a white girl when he goes to Goa and is now getting married to her. The three decide to do the same and set off to Goa. There they are taken care of by Danny (arvind akash) and in no time, they meet their women (pia, Melanie, Sneha). Are they successful in their mission or not forms the rest of the story.

Goa Tamil Movie Conclusion:

The film is all about having fun and that's how the tempo is right from the start. However, while the first half takes off very well and breezily gets to the interval, the second half gets a bit aimless and even few sequences may not go well with the family audiences. If that had been worked, then the film would have been a lot better. Overall, the performances score the maximum points and at the box office, this will be a decent grosser.

The reason for that is Suryanarayanan (suriya) and he is taken over by the strong desire to kill Pratap Ravi as he becomes responsible for the death of Surya's family. While Pratap tries in various ways to get Surya killed, Surya also has his own plans to kill Pratap. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Raththa Charithiram Tamil Movie Presentation:
The director has come up with a powerful storyline and he has added a new value to it with his presentation and narrative. The dialogues were excellent, the script was strong and the screenplay was mind blowing. Background score will haunt you for a long time while the songs will give a rush of blood. Action sequences were wonderful. Editing was crisp and though there were few jerks but it was good. Costumes were realistic and art department was mesmerizing. Cinematography deserves a special credit for making the film a masterpiece of visual treat. Vivek Oberoi was good and showed his powerful presence once again but more than him, the film belonged to Suriya. The Kollywood star was brilliantly amazing and he totally gets the audience into his trance. Priyamani was neat, Radhika Apte was ravishing and beautiful. Aijaz Khan was perfect, Sudeep was superb, Subhalekha Sudhakar was impressive. The others gave valuable performances and made it a good treat.

Chikku Bukku Tamil Movie Story:
A hearty love tale, the story begins in London where Arjun (arya) is a DJ and he has to come to Karaikudi to settle a family property issue. Similarly, Anu (shriya) is an MBA girl who has to reach Madurai since her father meets with an accident. Arjun and Anu meet each other in the train and in between, Arjun discovers his father's diary in the bag and starts reading. The diary contains the love story of his father Sekar (arya). This is way back in 1985 when Sekar likes Meenal (preeti rao) and when the issue is brought to parents, it gets rejected on caste grounds. Shattered by it, Sekar leaves and goes to police training. However, an interesting twist happens there. Meanwhile, Arjun and Anu also make it to their respective destinations but not before they face few challenges and realize that they are also falling in love with each other. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Chikku Bukku Tamil Movie Presentation:
The director has come up with a sugary romance storyline and both the presentation and narrative were nice. The dialogues were good, the script was better, the screenplay was appealing. Background score was good but songs were poor. Cinematography was very nice. Editing was required at few places. Costumes were fabulous and art department stole the limelight. Arya has come up with a very good performance in the dual role and he scores. The real show stealer was Shriya again with her stunning beauty and strikingly awesome dance. Preethi Rao made her presence felt. Santhanam was disappointing. Anoop was alright. The others did their bit as required and added value to the film.

Chikku Bukku Tamil Movie Conclusion:
The film is a cool romantic treat and one can see traces of films like 'Vaaranam Aayiram' 'Love Aaj Kal' etc. While the first half goes on a lighter vein with the budding of romance and a nostalgic love story, the second half gets into a twist and some sentimental situations. Overall, the film delivers the required juices for audience to relish and this will appeal to the youth in a big way. At the box office, if the comedy and songs were worked then it could have scored a big success but still, it will be a profit grosser.

HQMoviesBox.Com verdict: Breezy romantic love story, can be watched once

Va Quarter Cutting Story:
Sundararajan (siva) is all set to go to Saudi and he reaches Chennai from Coimbatore. He is received by the vet doctor Marthandam (charan) who is soon to marry Sundararajan's sister. However, the travel agent reveals that liquor and enjoying women are strictly not allowed in Saudi. So, Sundara and Marthandam decide to have a quarter before catching the flight. From there starts Sundara's hunt in the night. Unfortunately, it is a dry day due to elections and Sundara gets details about few locations where he might get the quarter bottle. In this process, he meets Saro (lekha) a girl who runs away from home, a father-son duo (john Vijay) who run a gambling center, a politician and even a brothel house. Va Quarter Cutting Presentation:
The director has come up with an unusual storyline and they failed to appeal with narrative while presentation was okay. The dialogues were average, the script was confusing, the screenplay was complicated. The background score was stale and no songs. Cinematography was the saving grace. Editing was adequate. Costumes didn't have much to do while the art department was creative. Siva tried his best to infuse life into his character but in vain, Charan was regular, Lekha looked cute and did her bit as required. John Vijay was entertaining. The cameo by Arya was a relief. Abhinayasree was good.

Va Quarter Cutting Conclusion:
It is always appreciable to see variety cinema in the Kollywood circuit but it should not be an extent to test the patience of the audience or confuse them. Something similar happened in this movie and while the concept was unconventional, it required a tight script and enough entertainment to make things appealing. With stale comedy and hardly any life in the characters, the film finds it hard to score at the box office. This will be a sure shot dud.

HQMoviesBox.Com Verdict: Confusing!!

Endhiran Tamil Movie Story:

A different treat, the story begins with the scientist Dr Vaseekaran (Rajinikanth) and his goal in life is to come up with a multi purpose robot that can serve the Indian army. He successfully creates one and names it Chitti (Rajinikanth). In no time, Chitti becomes a sensation and this doesn't go well with Vaseekaran's mentor Dr Bohra (danny). He manages to reject the robot stating it doesn't have the power to judge and feel. Vaseekaran works on that as well but that leads to trouble to him and his lady love Sana (aishwarya). What is that trouble and where the story goes from there forms the rest.

Endhiran Tamil Movie Presentation:

The director has come up with a variety storyline and though the presentation is good, the narrative is weak. The dialogues were normal, the script was just average, the screenplay was not quick. Background score was alright but only three songs were worth watching. Cinematography was excellent. Visual graphics were revolutionary. Editing was alright. Costumes were impressive and art department was apt. Rajinikanth has done his role with élan and though his usual mannerisms are missing, he manages to score brownie points. Aishwarya is a real visual treat, her sensuous appeal and her natural glow has been captured very well and her presence on the screen keeps audience busy. Danny was decent, Santhaman was okay, Cochin Haneefa was alright, M S Bhaskar was moderate, Kalabhavan Mani was quick, the others did their bit as required.
