Uthama Puthiran Story:
A hearty tale, the story begins with Siva (dhanush) who is a doted son of a big family and he is very helpful and happy go lucky in nature. In order to help his friend, he kidnaps a bride from a marriage and discovers that she is the wrong bride. However, the bride Pooja (genelia) is happy since she that marriage was happening against her wishes. So now, Siva has to take care of Pooja and he gets her to his home with a lie. In comes Emotional Ekambaram (vivek) who is the accountant for the family. Whether Siva manages to solve the problem of Pooja and what happens between both forms the rest of the story.
Uthama Puthiran Presentation:
The director has come up with a well knit tale and both the presentation and narrative were good. The dialogues were well written, the script was clean and the screenplay was apt. Background score was good and one song is very melodious. Cinematography was decent. Costumes were upto the mark and the art department was lively. Dhanush has come up with a good performance and he entertains, Genelia is as usual bubbly in nature and scores in few scenes, the real show stealer was Vivek who sends the audience into several rounds of laughter. Ashish Vidyarthi was average, Jayaprakash Reddy was good, Ambika was apt, Rajalakshmi was regular, the others did their bit as required.
