Boss Engira Bhaskaran Movie Story:
A laughathon tale, the story is set on the backdrop of Kumbakonam and here lives Baskaran (arya), a happy go lucky guy who takes life as it comes, he is called fondly as Boss by his friends. He spends his time with close buddy Nallathambi (santhanam) who owns a saloon. Story takes a turn when Boss comes across Chandrika (nayan), a professor in training and it is love at first sight. However, he gets caught while copying in an exam by her. As fate would have it, Chandrika's sister (vijayalakshmi) gets married to Baskaran's brother Saravanan (subbu panchu). But things don't work for Baskaran when he expresses his love for Chandrika and he is insulted. He takes a vow to earn money in 6 months and get his sister married. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.
Boss Engira Bhaskaran Movie Presentation:
The director has come up with a routine storyline but then it is his presentation and narration that made the difference. The dialogues were entertaining, the script was decent and the screenplay was terrific. Background scored added to the flavor and two songs were engrossing. Cinematography was masterly. Editing was crisp. Costumes were excellent and the art department was realistic. Arya gave a superb performance and showed his versatility. Nayantara was beautiful draped in decent outfits and scored maximum. The real show stealer was Santhanam with his mind blowing one liners and performance. vijayalakshmi was neat, Subbu Panchu was nice, Jiiva made his presence felt, Rajendran was good, the others added value to the film in their own way.
Boss Engira Bhaskaran Movie Conclusion:
The film has got it all to fit the bill of a commercial entertainer. Breezy presentation and excellent timing of comic situations made the day. While the first half goes on a lighter mode, the second half gets a bit twisted but still the humor is maintained. The real credit goes to the director for his script writing abilities and to the lead cast for their performances. This is a sure shot success at the box office and the usage of spoof on contemporary films was another highlight.
